Gary Hopen, M.D.

Gary Hopen, M.D., FACS is a graduate of Penn State/ Jefferson Medical College Five Year Program. He completed his internship at the University Health Science Center in Portland, Oregon, a research fellowship at Baylor University, his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Hospital, and a Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr. Hopen is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with special interests in cataract surgery and glaucoma. He has performed thousands of cataract operations, including laser-assisted cataract surgery with presbyopic and astigmatism-correcting intraocular lenses. He subspecializes in Neuro-Ophthalmology and serves as an Associate Examiner for the American Academy of Ophthalmology Oral Board Examinations.
